Term and Conditions
To order your portrait and secure your place on my waiting list, a £50 non-refundable deposit is required along with a signature on the order confirmation email. Clients will be advised of the approximate waiting list at the time of ordering. Portraits will not be deemed as ordered until the deposit has cleared.
When your portrait is completed, you will be sent a copy via email with the option of making any adjustments and alterations as far as the artist is able, in line with the original portrait expectations agreed upon. Once any adjustments have been made and the portrait has been approved, an invoice will be sent via email. Full payment plus shipping charges must be received before artworks are signed, carefully packaged and shipped.
Payments can be made securely online via bank transfer, PayPal or credit/debit card.
Clients have a 7 day money back guarantee from the date of paying their deposit to cancel their order, in which they will receive a full refund. Cancellations must be made in writing by email. Upon cancellation, clients will lose their place in my waiting list.
If clients cancel their order and 7 days have passed since placing the deposit, the full deposit amount will be retained as loss of business, to cover the artist’s time, administration, emails, mock-ups, payment fees.
When your portrait is completed, you will be sent a copy via email with the option of making any adjustments and alterations as far as the artist is able, in line with the original portrait expectations agreed upon. In the unlikely event that you are not completely satisfied with your portrait, then you are under no obligation to proceed with the order.
If you receive your order and are not completely satisfied, you can return it for a full refund within 30 days, excluding the cost of return postage. The refund will be processed when the portrait has been delivered back to me and will be refunded to the original method of payment.
If the portrait were to be lost or damaged in transit and you are able to provide evidence such as a photo of the damage, then a full refund would be issued, or a replacement portrait offered.
You agree that proof of delivery supplied by the delivery couriers is evidence that your portrait has been received.
If you have a special request for a specific date (e.g. for a birthday) let me know and I will try my best to accommodate you. I often have a client waiting list which can fluctuate due to the time of year and number of other portraits booked in my schedule. I will provide an estimated completion date upon your enquiry.
Parcels are shipped via Royal Mail. Delivery time is approximately 1-5 working days within the UK.
Sarah Starr retains full image rights to any portraits produced, mock ups, subsequent prints or photos of the portraits. This website and its content is the sole property of Sarah Starr. All rights reserved and the images may not be reproduced without permission. However, I am more than happy for you to share images of your portrait on your social media accounts as long as you credit me by adding the following details…..

Should you wish to print a copy of your portrait, you can order a giclee print here.
In the event of a price rise, all commissions that have paid a deposit and are on my waiting list, will be honoured at the original price stated at the time the order was placed.
Use of Finished Portraits
I may display finished portrait, subjects first name and some details about their personality on my website, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest pages for the purposes of promotion. If you do not wish your portrait or details to appear on screen please let me know on the order form.
Customer contact details including telephone numbers, addresses, email addresses and photographs that are sent to me will be kept entirely confidential and will not be sold or passed onto anyone. I keep copies of your contact details, photos and a scan of your portrait on file in case you require a print. You will be added to my mailing list to keep you up to date with artist news and special offers, which you can unsubscribe from at any time. Should you wish me to delete your details completely, you can request this by emailing email@example.com.
